Sex in the City Vibes

Hi my pretties,

This outfit share is a little overdue, but it's just way too cute for me not to share the details about it with you. I totally was feeling Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City for this shoot. I'm not gonna lie I really loved it, but felt so out of my element because I really never dress like this.

ABOUT THE LOOK

Isn't this so dreamy?! Totally channeling my inner Carrie Bradshaw for this one and loving it. I'm not gonna lie to y'all, when I first pieced this together I felt so silly. Even though I love me some tulle and big skirts, I very rarely wear them unless they're part of a costume. So as much as I adored this, I felt totally out of my element. I wore it anyways as you can see and so glad I did because firstly, I stepped outside my comfort zone. It's so hard to do this sometimes I get it. We feel secure in "Our Style." Changing it up leads to a scary moment because no one wants people to judge them. Well, let me tell you from my experience people are going to judge no matter what. It's a shitty thing, but it happens and usually it comes down to jealousy or some sort of negativity they want to try and spread. So don't worry about the haters - YOU DO YOU! Secondly, so many people loved this look too and that reassurance always feels so good. We all love hearing compliments and honestly we should hand them out more freely. They don't cost anything, but a little kindness at the shit goes a long way! Y'all know I'm right ;)

Anyways, to get down to it take a chance and step outside your comfort zone. It doesn't have to be a big step... maybe start with a color that seems totally outside of you pallet, or try a different style of shoe. Then start layering those other options all together. You'll be surprised with what you can come up with. Plus it's fun!

This complete look is from chicwish, besides the shoes I found those designer dupes on amazon. Wearing a xs/s skirt, and a m/l sweater. I like the slightly oversized feel to the sweater. Makes it a little more cozy feeling.
